Dr Himanshu Champaneri is a neurosurgeon at Gurugram, Delhi NCR, attached with Marengo Asia Hospitals. He serves as a Senior Consultant and leads the Functional, Epilepsy & Endoscopic Neurosurgery (FEENS) services for the Marengo Asia Health Care Hospitals.

He has an experience of 14 years of experience in the field and has performed more than 1500 neurosurgeries. He is an expert in functional neurosurgery and performs surgeries for Parkinson’s Disease, Dystonia, Essential Tremors, Failed Back Syndrome, Metastatic Pain Syndrome, Spastic Cerebral Palsy, Refractory Neuropathic Pain Syndromes and Peripheral Peripheral Nerve Palsies.

He is the FIRST NEUROSURGEON TO PERFORM SURGERY FOR SCHIZOPHRENIA IN INDIA, which was done in June 2023. This was a Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery targeted at Nucleus Accumbens (NAcc). He has performed a variety of functional neurosurgeries like Deep Brain Stimulation, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Phrenic Nerve Stimulation, Stereotactic ablative procedures, Intrathecal Baclofen Pump Implantation, Cervical Rhizotomies and Peripheral Neurotizations.

He is an expert in Epilepsy Surgery like Stereotactic lesioning, intraoperative ECOG guided resections, Callosotomy, Hemispherotomy, Subpial Resections and Vagus Nerve Stimulation.

He has mastered the art of performing Brain Tumor Surgery via 1.8cm EndoPort. He performs Brain and Spine Tumor Resections using Intraoperative Ultrasound to facilitate complete & safe tumor resections. He is an expert in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeries for lumbar & cervical fixations, scoliosis surgery.

Dr Champaneri is one of the few neurosurgeons in Delhi-NCR to perform peripheral nerve surgeries like brachial plexus repair, peripheral nerve schwannomas.

He grew up in the state of Gujarat, finished his graduation and postgraduate surgical training at the renowned Sardar Patel University with a GOLD MEDAL. He developed keen interest in the field of Minimal Invasive Surgery and continued his passion in the field of Neurosurgery by performing Minimally Invasive Brain and Spine Surgeries.

He finished his neurosurgical training at Institute of Neurosciences, Medanta Hospital, Gurugram and has worked as a Consultant, Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram. He has significant academic and research experience with many publications and book chapters that are focused on improving our comprehensive service in neurosurgery. He is a technocrat and uses his expertise of modern technology in performing the safest stereotactic and navigation guided neurosurgeries.
